When I was a little girl I saw "The Little Mermaid" and I have been hooked on these mythological creatures ever since. There is something so freeing about escaping to the sea for a couple of hours, lost in the world I've created on the page. The mermaids I draw are what my day dreams are made of: complete freedom to do whatever I wish and to swim with the current to new lands and places. Every sea creature would be my friend and I would fear nothing. I strive to reach a small state of envy in each piece: if I could be her for one day, oh what a day that would be. Each piece is hand-drawn with colored pencils and some watercolor pencils.
